Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) is one of the largest Spanish Universities devoted to distance learning and continuous education. Regarding the number of students, UNED is one of the largest universities in Europe with about 160 000 students. The research activities of the Faculty of education cover all the subjects above mentioned and there is a long tradition of collaboration with public institutions and private companies. The total number of UNED personnel is 2000 and all are directly involved in ODL.

UNED is be responsible for: internal evaluation, preparation and organisation of the workshop for evaluation of prototypes of the learning materials and the 4th programme steering committee meeting in Madrid, performance of the pedagogical experiment during the field trial and data analysis.
